Bowel Nosodes question

Post by Shannon Nelson »

Does anyone know of "family characteristics", anything that would lead one
to think, "Maybe this case needs a bowel nosode!"?

Dear Shannon, each bowel nosode has its own clear cut symptom picture and
can be used like any other remedy whether a nosode or not, but the picture
has to fit, like any other remedy, else why prescribe it?

One deviation from this is that bowel nosodes can sometimes be used if a
group of remedies present themselves in a case but, for some reason or
another, the picture is not clear. If that group of remedies is related to a
bowel nosode then that nosode can be given and the picture should clarify.

But the reason for it being an unclear picture must not be because the case
has not been taken properly or that we just do not know the remedies well
enough to prescribe. More likely reasons for using bowel nosodes, apart from
their own pictures fitting the case at hand, is what we sometimes call
'blocks' to a case. This might be heavy allopathic dosing in the past -
especially antibiotics (Gaertner) and skin drugs (Morgan), digestive drugs
(Proteus); irreversible genetic factors that thwart a case; persistent
chronic conditions, e.g. Hay Fever; or when the indicated remedy fails to
act.

Most MM's will give the related remedies (if that is what you mean by family
characteristics), or read "A Treatise on Bowel Nosodes" by Dr Y. R. Agrawal.

Best wishes, Joy
