I had the patient in this morning and am confused about what is happening.
On 4th Dec., I gave the Sep. 30 after the original high potency had caused
an agg in her original exhausted state and diarrhoea. This Diarrhoea was an
OS but she suppressed it with Imodium. After the one dose Sepia 30 she felt
a lot better in a few hours but then came out in a cold - her first for
years. With the cold came increased energy and she actually went out that
night. The nest day she had lost her voice and had a sore throat with
shivering and sweating. She said in bed for a couple of days. The last
couple days she has got over the cold and wasn't so tired but today she
reckons she is back to what she was when she came to see me!!!
The only thing I gleaned was that the day after the high Sepia (I gave a 30,
200, 1M in 24 hours) she started with a period which was 20 days early. This
was most unusual for her. She sailed through the period - no problems and
had no PMT either. Now surely the Sepia couldn't have brought on a period so
quickly?
Oh yes the other thing is that she is going around turning all the heating
off at home and it is freezing here. She doesn't want the windows open ( not
Puls) and she loves lying in the sunshine in summer!!She does however say
that she has been very tearful because she feels so awful.
Below is the initial case that I took:-
This 37-yr. old woman presented as a tall slim woman with dark wavy long
hair who sat with her arms folded a lot of the time. She was quietly spoken
but in an intense manner and quite sparkly eyes considering her PC. She was
rocking and her head nodded constantly. She was very nervy. She has been
treated by anther homeopath and prescribed Ars. 200, which she has taken at
will and Nux Vom of which she has also taken a few. The last Rx she was
given was Kali Phos 30. She has also been taking St Johns Wort for the past
3 months. Her Doctor says she is depressed and in the past has been on
Prozac that made her so ill when she withdrew from it that she was
hospitalised.
Presenting Complaint - Extreme tiredness/stress.
She has not taken any homeopathic remedies for 2 weeks.
She has 2 children and after the second at 5 months she got postnatal
depression. She used to work full time and this happened after she started
to go back to work. The baby was planned and she had no problems with her
pregnancy or the births.
"I feel so tired all the time even with enough sleep. I feel drained and
exhausted. I am snappy and narky with the kids. (Age 6and 7). When I wake up
I feel wrecked. I feel awful and can't get going. afternoon. The
tiredness is overwhelming all the time."
I am a worrier "about finances as I am not able to work. I feel guilty for
not working. I worry about how to get better and what someone is saying
about me as I read more into it than should be there."
"I am happily married. I used to work all week and go out of a night. I feel
that everything is on top of me. I work 5 hours a week as a secretary in a
school but I am not coping with it."
"I worry about what is going to happen if I can't get back to work. I worry
about things that are not going to happen like my husband losing his job. I
worry about making the tea and then on to the next thing."
"My downfall is the house. I have to have the house neat and tidy. I can't
stand clutter. I make lists. I do it all the hoovering etc."
NS - cold sores (agg from Ars?)
"I am not enjoying the children. I feel the children are a burden I am
better keeping busy."
Used to be on the pill and was fine on it. Not interested in sex now.
"I take things to heart all the time. I take it personally. I am nervous
about what people might think."
Fears - what is going to happen if she doesn't get better.
Childhood - fine. "I'm the oldest of 3 and have a brother and sister who
both live abroad. I get on with my parents who live near. I enjoyed school
and I remember moving to a new house when I was 8. I got married at 27."
First sex was at 18 and mutual agreement.
"I was on Prozac and got worse and was hospitalised for 10 days with chest
pains on coming off it."
Moles - a couple.
"I'm always helping other people. People ask for favours and I go out of my
way. A (husband) thinks I am soft. I can't say no."
Anger - "I'm not confrontational."
Unhappy - "I would like more money. I would move house as ours is too
small."
Happy - "With husband".
Sleep - position left side.
Dreams - people
Food - desires -sweet things, bananas. Likes all meat.
Dislikes - seafood, tomatoes raw, liver.
Temperature - feels the heat but does get cold.
Environment - likes the seaside
Menses - no problems
Family medical History
Grandfather-cancer. Nothing else given

Re: My suppression case - update + whole case
Thanks Dave for your reply. I think the reason I gave the dose I did was
that she Muscle tested well for the 200 and the 1M but if I remember rightly
not the 30 so that for some reason was why I used this method of
prescribing!!
Yes I do realise that Sepia has a big action with regards to menses but my
question was could it really logically be able to bring on a period 10 days
(not 20 as I wrote originally) early within a day of taking it? She feels as
if she is due for another period any day (a month later now) which maybe
why her energy has gone down again(?)
She did not "burst into tears" but I have treated many patients including
men with Sepia and never had this happen. The English are known for a stiff
upper lip!!
Nervy - means nervous as she was talking to me. This was during the first
consultation and was not apparent in the second.
I look forward to reading any other thoughts on this case when you have
time. I will check out David Little's site but have probably read the parts
that you are referring me to.
I will be offline most of the period 18th Dec - 2nd Jan as I will be abroad
and my computer access will be limited to the 2 weekends if that!!
All the best
