Sore muscles?

Post by Shannon Nelson »

I recall a while back, a discussion about whether some remedy could help
sore muscles resulting from overexertion. I don't *think* anyone mentioned
having found one to work?

I notice this rubric:
GENERALITIES; INJURIES, blows, falls and bruises; overexertion, strain,
from: 3 - Calc.; 2's - arn., ars., con., ham., mill., rhus-t. 1 - calc-f.,
carb-an., carb-v., cocc., lyc., nat-c., ovi-g-p., sanic., sil., ter.

Doesn't this seem to mean "sore muscles (feeling bruised) from
overexertion", or am I misunderstanding the rubric?

I'm interested to see Calc as the apparent leader there, and am curious why?
Anyone know? On thinking, I would find it weird if remedies couldn't help
soreness of overexertion...

Thanks,
Shannon

Arnica has worked, topically. Or Sports Gel, which, I think has arnica and rhust tox in it.

I used Arnica 200c once for a man who had an injury (bruise) to a leg muscle that would not heal. It worked in a couple of hours giving him major relief.

In my experience with dancers, who are not known for their willingness to remove obstacles to cure, arnica and rhus-t have afforded short-term relief.

Hi Shannon
If I remember physiology correctly, the calcium ion is very important in
muscle contraction. Perhaps it gets depleted in overexertion and
homeopathic calcium helps right this imbalance.

There's an article in 'Time' magazine, USA this week, on the subject of pain
in the muscles and pain in the joints. It asserts the thinking that there
is some state of imbalance when the bone is either too strong, mends too
quickly, or too weak. The 'disease' reflects a distinction in arthritis
based on both gene and enzyme conditions.

Hi Isali,

So you are assuming this rubric deals with an arthritis situation? To me it
sounded more like "sore muscles after too hard a workout"... (Which is what
I was looking for.)

Thanks,
Shannon

Hi Shannon,
The latest research is beginning to demonstrate that arthritic conditions
are post muscular degeneration or deficiency. We never get a full case over
the site so I thought it best to convey info and allow the reader to
establish a fit or not.... whether there exist pain in muscles or joints.

Isali, could you explain a little more what you mean by this intriguing
comment?

Hi Andy, view time magazine online www.time.com/time, & www.oars.org
(osteoarthritis research society).
