BIH option: Needs Tech Assist

Post by Debra Lamana »

Ellen,
I wanted to add to your comment about BIH (British Institute of Homeopathy - USA branch) . . . Maria did write that she was very busy at year end, and said that she needed someone who was willing to help. I offered to help as a contact person. However, Maria replied that she needs someone who would be able to talk with her technical staff about relocating the archives. I posted two requests to those here who may have the technical skills needed, and did not receive any replies.

It is perhaps still possible that a move to BIH could work out after the first of the year, if someone with the technical skill would be willing to communicate with the BIH staff about moving the archived messages. Any one out there interested?
If so, might be worth a post to Maria's attention to inquire whether she would still be willing to host Minutus at BIH. Deb
Hi Shannon,
I think we were talking of moving to the British Institute of Homeopathy which is a school. But Maria, the administrator of the internet course in the US did not have time to do the footwork.

Sure, my comment is to the world.
Do you have an objection to Peter's offering? Maybe I am not keeping track well enough.

Hi Ellen,
I have sent a number of posts explaining my concerns about a move to another corporate group and one that is openly prohibiting topics that can be discussed. Will reserve posting additional comments on this topic as quite unfortunately, it is a minority opinion. Thanks for asking anyway, Deb.

There must still be homeopathy groups that are already on private servers. Maybe affiliated with schools, anything like that?
What platform is or was the Catwell group on — was that also Yahoogroups, and has it moved somewhere…?

Hi Deb,

I am working on moving the group to your own forum where you will have full freedom of speech and your existing message archives can be fully restored. This new forum will be open to all topics without censorship, your groups will just have to make the occasional donations to cover the running costs (server and traffic costs for sending out all the emails, etc.), but they are relatively small once it is all setup. We can alternatively consider allowing advertising if that is an issue, otherwise the forum has no advertising.
It will take several days before it is fully setup and tested, particularly as the festive season will be slowing down such work. It should be ready by the new year. Those that donate will be let on early to help check it out.

We also still need to raise the costs of setting up this new system. Some donations have come in, but we are not there, yet. Details and donations can be made here: https://groups.rifeforum.com/minutus.php#donate
A screenshot of the new phpBB based forum can also be seen there. It runs on my own webserver that is also used to run the Rife Forum as well.
Until all is setup and working, we can continue our discussions on the current group on groups.io.

Regards

Peter Walker

Jean,

Thanks for your donation. Just ignore the email with the download links. You do not have to download it.
