I want to avoid the DHPP vaccine for our pups. Are there any specific cons or plus-es to this vaccines I can equip myself with when we see our vet the next time? Does anybody have a link to the actual ingredients in this vaccine? The ingredient list alone may speak volumes about the safety (though not efficiency) of the drug.

We do the puppy vaccines according to Dr. Dodd's protocol. Then we do titers thereafter. So our puppies get one distemper/parvo vaccine at 10 weeks. One distemper/parvo vaccine at 14 weeks. And one distemper/parvo at 18 weeks. It is imperative to give the last parvo vaccine after 16 weeks to be sure the maternal immunity has dissipated and the vaccine can achieve efficacy
We also use Dr, Dodd's titers at age three years and at 6 years, and again at 9 years.
That is all for the life of the dog.
I have a 15 year old dog who titered as high as a newly vaccinated dog.
I know there are people who do not vaccinate at all and that is fine. We prefer to protect our puppies from at least distemper.parvo as the diseases are so deadly.
We also prefer our puppies who move to their families are protected and send along a written set of instructions to be given to the veterinarian Most veterinarians do not agree with our approach but legally, the only legally mandated vaccine for dogs is Rabies vaccine.
The veterinarian can insist on vaccinations as part of their business model and that is their right owners have the right to find another veterinarian. We do not permit a veterinarian to bully our puppy owners.

You could contact Dr. Dodd and seek out her assistance to determine the ingredients of the vaccines. She is quite helpful.

For several years I communicated with a group out of Canada, CNRS. The group focuses on naturally raised
dogs and other pets. The moderator of that group never vaccinates and will use homeopathy and other naturopathic methods for her
dogs which she raises. I would join that online Group and get some great info on this issue.
The question of titers often comes up with them. I recall posts about people's dogs showing titers for things for which they never rec'd vaccines.
They pick up the organisms in the wild and their immune systems are healthy enough that they develop titers but never the disease. That group
would be so useful to people with pets.
