some delayed feedback
We all know people don't always come back to inform you of a remedy's
effect. Or maybe they call you in a couple of years
when they need your help again. Well I got some amazing feedback
yesterday-after 20 years!
I treated a young woman, a friend of my daughter many years ago. In one
case she had a horrific case of strep thoat with
her throat closing up and the neck swollen beyond her ears. I went to
her as she could not even move then. I gave her
Lachesis and waited and watched her neck swelling reduce before my eyes
within an hour and her throat open again for breathing and
drinking. Yesterday she said strep infections with high drama had been
typical in her life. Since that one remedy she never had another
strep or throat problem!
Her second experience involved more mental/emotional issues. She was
going to be traveling out of the area so I gave her 2 doses of Opium to
take. The first dose elicited a major reaction with massive toxic
sweating that was probably very acidic from her description. Her mental
state was also wacked out. Being 1000 miles away I could only suggest
she drink coffee to try and antidote but that didn't help. Clearly the
remedy as a good one but too high a dose for her. Yesterday she
reported that as bad as it was, it was transformative for her life.
There had always been a duality in her that was confusing and
troublesome. She never understood what was going on in her. That
remedy experience opened her up to the nature of this duality and she
began to understand it and make peace with it. Totally impacted her
sense of well being.
Today she says that homeopathy and shamanism are the 2 healing protocols
she trusts. Nice feedback. Told her I would include her on all
petitions and campaigns to support homeopathy. Just thought people here
would enjoy hearing this little story.

thank you but it really isn't about me. i am just excited to get such long term feedback and hear how
such simple treatment became lifelong transforming. i think others should cite such cases with those who question.

Re: some delayed feedback
Thinking about Tanya's report of long-term cure, I put the following blurb up on my website. http://tokyohomeopathy.com/long-term-followups/ What is cure?
What do we actually mean by cure?
Do you personally want your homeopath to be concerned about your health even five years after curative treatment? There is more than good karma or compassion involved. Long-term follow-up provides valuable information about our homeopathic medicines.
How literal are we when we speak of long-term cure? It is heart-warming to hear dramatic stories of recovery that I may not have heard during the limited period when I was working with the patient. Also, it is even more impressive to know in fact if the remedy is holding up over the long term. But there are other benefits to long-term follow up that are more than such positive reinforcement.
Cure means the same remedy cures for 2-5 years. If I know that the patient's remedy was curative for 2 years or even 5 years, then the information that I got about the patient is likely to be descriptive of the remedy in general. This is particularly true if similar evidence is found in 3-5 other cases cured by that remedy and I have several cases supporting this description. Note, information about curative remedies is only as good as the depth of information gained during case-taking.

I have a problem with that sentence: "Cure means the same remedy cures for 2-5 years."
IMO, if you need to repeat the same remedy, even after so long, then:
- it is not a "cure" but a temporary disappearance of the symptoms and signs
- or the root, the cause, the aetiology has not been dealt with and creates the same situation or a different presentation needing the same remedy.
My reading of cure of cure means not only the disappearance of every symptom but the absence of need for any treatment, no matter what method has been used.

Re: some delayed feedback
Hi Dr. Roz,
Thanks for pointing out this lack of clarity. To most non-homeopaths, the idea that the same remedy will cure unrelated symptoms 2-5 years from the original cure is unthinkable.
The idea here is other problems may occur within that window. The original complaint was healed, but something else happened. Even a traffic accident. I forget the details, but Tanya's case had an unrelated problem years later. Not an occurance of the original symptom or syndrome. So, she suggested the curative remedy from past use. That is the assumed scenario here.
Best,
Ellen Madono

Re: some delayed feedback
I do not see the same original dose of remedy "curing" many years at distance....You have a Word programme on your computer. The day you installed it is the dosing of your remedy to your computer so that it works better at writing articles; you do not reinstall it every time you start using it...same thing with a remedy that has acted in depth, with a difference: physiology is more complicated than electronics and as you say new, other or different events may occur and at time they will create the same symptoms as with the original disease/complaint even though the aetiology is totally another one. I call that "target priming": one organ or system becomes more sensitive and will almost always be the first to react to any stimulus; some people receiving bad news will have a heart attack, others an asthma attack, or perforate an ulcer or have diarrhoea, all those different reaction to apparently the same cause; in any individual patient, any potential cause can, and will, trigger the same reaction.
This is something I explain in detail to my patients as it becomes an early warning system: out of the blue you have some liquid stools. Instead of taking the former remedy the "worked" so well, I ask them to focus on the cause, if they can find it, or drill them until they get the information, then treat accordingly.
They are still "cured" from their original pathology, their reaction system acts the same way to other stimuli; this then becomes a good starting pint to treat deeper, Core, Miasm, whatever...
OK??

Such a nice explanation. Do you mind if I use your metaphor with my patients?
