Homeopathy receiving a frontal attack
I don't know who funds Organic Authority but that is clearly an
oxymoron. It is not the first time they have
run articles that sound straight from the drug corporation lobbyists.
We need to mount a phone call/letter writing campaign.
Please get your patients, cohorts, friends, family, etc to make calls to
congressional representatives
and perhaps letters to the editor on this bogus issue. They are now
claiming deaths from teething remedies because it
includes belladonna!

I thought outright lies were politically correct. Am I reading the wrong new sources? Lie and it becomes true. A proven political survival strategy. "Alternative truth" is now in.
"Belladonna causes teething deaths. From the OrganicAuthority." Sounds politically correct to me. Why does it bother anyone out there in mass media land? Do liability laws work? What could I say to my legislator?
About 8 years ago, the major Japanese bookstores simply removed all the homeopathy books because of a media centered lawsuit claiming that a Japanese homeopath stopped vitamin K supplementation of a baby and the baby died. I could never figure out why homeopathy was to blame, but the general public got the hidden message and I have been warned numerous times about the dangers of homeopathy. In the most vague terms, this series of homeopathy bashing articles is cited when I receive these warnings.

The problem here in the US is the power of the drug corporations and runaway federal agencies that are raiding, arresting and threatening long
term jail time for bogus charges on top of making homeopathy and other holistic protocol illegal. There is an Amish farmer in his 60's being threatened with life time jail for making some herbal salves. The control efforts are revving up their authoritarianism. It cannot be ignored because of the consequences if we do.

Re: Homeopathy receiving a frontal attack
The FDA article about the teething tablets on its website is vague.
What ranges of quantity of Belladonna were found in the teething products?
Why are they not allowed to change their manufacturing to have the proper amount in the tablet, which should certainly be safe?
Seems like it was an ultimatum to shut down without the option to resolve the problem.
Has anyone contacted Hylands to get the rest of the story?

Bell 12X
“.........................Belladonna is included in the Tablets to ease the redness, inflammation and discomfort of the child’s gum that often occurs during the teething process. Belladonna 12X HPUS is manufactured from the whole plant, of which a small portion is Belladonna alkaloids (the component sometimes associated with side effects). Each Teething Tablet (which weighs about 65 mg) is composed of 0.0000000000003% Belladonna alkaloids as stated on the label. As calculated, this means that each complete teething tablet contains only
approximately 0.0000000000002 mg of Belladonna alkaloids.........”
“....................The amount of Belladonna alkaloids in teething tablets is minuscule, especially when compared to conventional medicines that contain Belladonna alkaloids. To put the calculated amount of Belladonna in a Hyland’s Baby Teething Tablet into perspective, the 0.0000000000002 mg of Belladonna alkaloids is THOUSANDS OF TIMES below even the therapeutic amounts of Belladonna used in conventional anti-spasmodic medicines that doctors sometimes prescribe (0.2 to 5 milligrams of Belladonna alkaloids). The side effects (called anticholinergic side effects) sometimes caused by conventional medicines delivering more than 0.2 mg of Belladonna alkaloids – such as dry mouth, blurred vision and urinary retention – are not associated with homeopathic medicines because of their minute dosage....................”
“.....................To further clarify the homeopathic dosages of Belladonna in Baby Teething Tablets, a 10-pound child would have to accidentally ingest, all at the same time, more than a dozen bottles of 135 Baby Teething Tablets before experiencing even dry mouth from the product. Additionally, the body clears Belladonna alkaloids from any single dose in a matter of hours. Therefore, the Belladonna in the product would be very unlikely to build up in the system when taken as directed on the package label...............”

Re: Homeopathy receiving a frontal attack
The attack on Hyland’s is really pathetic, especially when you see statistics like the following in the Journal of the American Medical Association:
ADVERSE DRUG VISITS TO EMERGENCY ROOMS
JAMA, 2016, 3116(20) 2115-2125
4 PER 1000 PERSONS
Anticoagulants, antibiotics, diabetic drugs top the list.
The following video was created by Hyland’s to explain the safety of homeopathic medicine when it is prepared according to HPUS regulations.
No virus found in this message.

Of course it is pathetic from our point of view. However, it is very dangerous.
Fascism works best when it creeps up on you, bit by bit. And with each of these attacks it also
creates a mass venue to striking fear, cynicism, and hostility into an ignorant public. The US
just had a mass example of this in an election based on lies, hatred and hysteria. And the
intellectual class is even more alarming as they do not do the research into the facts but
trust in their logic as if it operates free from their emotions and belief systems.

And why did you have to tie the presidential election into this insanity about homeopathy?

Re: Homeopathy receiving a frontal attack
I have written before about the contradictions in Liberals regarding health issues. There seems
to be major disconnect between liberal/progressive politics when it comes to war or public education
and a downright reactionary position on health issues. Literally just took a hit from someone online
who sees himself as a great 'thinker' and academic, a humanist and liberal. He is supporting a man who worked as a
consultant for the FDA for 20 yrs. Goddess knows what kind of consulting he did but, needless to say,
he is in big disagreement to me. The academic man simply trusts the FDA and anyone who worked for them
as if that means he is free from bias. There is another man in this group who writes me privately about
his interest in my comments critical of the medical industry. He lost his wife to ALS 2 yrs ago and posted
me that she always talked about nutrition and supplements which he attributes the disease moving so
slowly in her. He says what I write reminds him of his wife. Nice! Too bad he is not willing to post within
this whole group but I find that typical of people who are willing to think outside the box but not have the courage to speak out.
I find this man interesting as he was a career military man, typically conservative and reactionary on many issues, but
he seems to respond to many things I say much more openly than the so-called liberals in this group.
I find that no matter what people think of themselves, they are rarely of a single mind on all issues. This makes it
possible to create allies across many borders on given issues and that to me is very valuable. So I am happy to work
with people who tend to be reactionary if we can find alliance of holistic health. It is possible to restrict coalitions to
specific issues and doing that is what would create success. Many fundamentalists, for example, are very supportive
of non-medial industry health protocols.
