heroin and other addiction

Post by Joy Lucas »

Applause for what Wendy wrote about addiction and our attitudes towards it -
as healers. It brings to light - again, the subject of being an unprejudiced
observer.

Fear, prejudice, preconceptions and being judgemental about cases that come
our way are the worst possible enemies in our responsible position of
calling ourselves healers.

If you feel disgust, distaste, anger, fear, prejudice, hate, have moralistic
feelings, religious feelings or preconceptions or guilt etc towards a client
then you have no right to build a contract with them with regards to
healing. One is not in the position to do so in these circumstances.

It reminds me of a case I witnessed during student days when a client
presented with ------ symptoms and had the courage??? to divulge that he was
not only heavily into drugs but was also a big time drug dealer. The
students responsible for the case were so appalled by these drug habits that
they chose this to lead and interpret the case, with a view to 'cleansing
the client of these unsociable and evil habits'.

An extremely high potency of the chosen remedy was prescribed. During the
follow up some weeks later the client announced how good he felt about
giving up drugs, he felt great relief that he was managing to shed the
burdens of that previous life but that the "little chap that sits on my
shoulder is now conducting my previous business concerns and he is making a
fortune out of it."

Is that suppression or what?

Deal with your own demons before you decide about those of others.
Respectfully yours,

Joy Lucas
