Some questions from a homeopathy beginner

Post by Margaret Lorraine »

Hello Everyone-

First I should probably say that I have used herbal medicine for years and it has done wonders for me and my family.

I discovered homeopathy recently when I had a stressful situation going on that was making me quite tense. I was with a friend, and she gave me something called Ignatia Amara 30x and it really worked :) I love the fact that homeopathic remedies are non addictive and safe and without side effects.

So I have some basic questions-

Can homeopathic remedies be used along with herbs?

In herbal medicine there is something called a repertory, which is a list of illnesses and the herbs that are used to treat it, something like this:
Colds- angelica, catnip, garlic, ginger, peppermint. . .
Does homeopathy have anything like this? An online version would be especially useful, and also an ebook version.

Can more than one homeopathic remedy be used at the same time? For example could someone take the remedies for arthritis and flu at the same time?

Thanks in advance for your time and your help :)

Hi and welcome.
I also use herbal tinctures sometimes in my homeopathic practice. Just don’t take the homeopathic remedy at the same time!! Leave a couple of hours between it.
You can use homeopathy for acute situations the way you suggest and if you go to my website (see below) you will find a First Aid page to click on. Homeopathy is also prescribed holistically and for that a full consultation is needed to find the remedy for the individual. You would not normally give more than 1 remedy at a time which is why a constitutional remedy is given which will take into account all your concerns , mental, emotional and physical. However with what you wrote flu would be an acute situation whereas arthritis would need a constitutional remedy
