Re: The Future on Minutus - Alternatives to groups.io
Peter this looks beautiful! And—I am trying again to make a payment, but again I can’t bring myself to check “I accept” to the conditions list, without first understanding them. First, what’s being referred to as the permissions for agencies to “link to” the site? And second, what does this part act...

Re: IMPORTANT: No discussions of anti-vaccination ideologies permitted
Anyone know of health-related groups being hosted on “sympathetic” private servers—is that what solves the problem, or is it more than that? What do we need to understand about the issues?

Peter, this is a wonderful note — and we’ll very much look forward to the answers!

There must still be homeopathy groups that are already on private servers. Maybe affiliated with schools, anything like that?

Re: Important: Discussions on vaccinations are not permitted, here!
Hi Peter, I’d love some clarification. There is actually a vast difference between whether a group is “dedicated to the promotion of anti-vaccination ideologies”, and whether “vaccinations” itself is a “forbidden topic”. A vast and important difference — are you able to tell us just which is the cas...

Tanya,
The silent lurkers are also free to accept the invitation they will get. Why on earth would you object to letting someone choose whether or not to accept an invitation? There’s no rocket science involved.

Re: Good News - member list recovered
Hi Tanya,
Peter is helping us! I think we can handle doing the cc’ing ourselves.
At some point it becomes up to the others, whether they come aboard or not.
For e.g., remember someone had expressed an unwillingness to be part of Io, so why not leave them that choice?

Hennie, I agree, and also with Peter’s observation, that people who are added, rather than asking to be added, will sometimes complain. Better to give people a choice—and as we’ve all seen, accepting an invite is easy! I’m cc’ing the group at Yahoo, let’s try to keep doing that for a while. Shannon
