Re: Bird/Swine/Human Flu - H1N1
My understanding is that the cases of this flu that are being seen outside Mexico are essentially mild, everyday flus. So far as I know, the only fatalities have been in Mexico. I think we need to think about issues of susceptibility here and all the factors that contribute to this. In terms of home...

arnica question
Just caught up with this thread on Arnica pre-op. I have had an oncologist tell me to never use arnica before surgery for breast cancer surgery because the surgeon uses the amount of blood flow as an indicator of the parameters of the tumour. Since then, I only use arnica post-op for breast cancer. ...

Re: chemical hypersensitivity case
Thanks so much for the feedback on this case. Shannon, I had actually thought about carcinosinum for this patient, but hadn't actually come across anything that suggested it covered these symptoms (although I wasn't terribly concerned about that), so thanks for the confirmation there. The patient ha...

chemical hypersensitivity case
I'm wondering if anyone has had any experience in treating patients with chemical hypersensitivity. The patient i am seeing is a 50 year old female -- she is particularly effected by gas fumes and mold, but is also very sensitive to pesticides. Upon exposure to any of these toxins, she gets intense ...

Re: nursing baby and remedy reaction
Thanks Tanya and Shannon, once again. This is a new patient, and one who is totally new to homeopathy. Her baby is only a couple of months old and as I said, other than asking if there were any other indications of mucous accumulation (which there aren't) I haven't given the baby much attention. Mum...

Re: nursing baby and remedy reaction
Shannon and Tanya -- Thanks for your responses. I told the mother who was concerned that my instinct was that the baby probably needed to get rid of whatever made that stool all covered with mucous, but didn't let her know that I was confused myself. The remedy the Mum is taking is Syphilinum and I ...

Re: nursing baby and remedy reaction
The baby is not my patient, but after hearing this report, I
questioned the mother closely to see if the baby had any other mucous
issues and the answer was "NO".

Re: nursing baby and remedy reaction
I just did a follow-up with a Mum who has a nursing baby. I prescribed Syphilinum 200 for the Mum which she repeated after two weeks. Each time she took the remedy (which is working brilliantly for her), her baby had a strange stool within a day or two of her taking the remedy. His stool, which is u...
